Being the country's only riverside village which houses both old and new facades, a picturesque mix of modern facilities and a landscape rich in history, Clarke Quay is an ideal weekend leisure-seeker's place. The weekend flea market is a source of finding classic antiques of yesterday as well as getting  good bargains, and the wide array of souvenirs and local delicacies on carts are a visual treat. Amusement arcades, good food, and a fantastic view of the sparkling Singapore River as you immerse yourself in the bustling among the  Singaporean crowd. Clarke Quay has been the venue of some attempts to enter record books, eg. the world's longest satay, etc. Also, the various-cuisine themed restaurants serve tantalising food amidst the pasar malam-like environment. Bumboat rides which include a paranomic view of the bay, historical bridges and the Merlion are available.

CLARKE QUAY consists of five main areas each with their own speciality goods and services, set in a condescending setting of ancient shophouses of yesteryear. They are:

  • the Foundry
  • the Cannery
  • Trader's Market
  • Merchant's Court
  • Shophouse Row
